General Terms and Conditions
Registrations or rebookings will only be accepted in writing via the registration form or online (http://www.dig.co.at). You have the option of registering by e-mail (office@dig.co.at), via our homepage (www.dig.co.at) or in person at Deutsch in Graz. All registrations are binding. For a booked language trip (language course with accommodation) you will receive an invoice and a confirmation of registration with all relevant information about the course and accommodation.
Payment of the course and accommodation fee is due on the payment date stated on the invoice. Timely payment is deemed to have been received in the Deutsch in Graz account indicated. Please note that there is no guarantee of a place on the course if the fee is paid late. It is important to state the invoice number when making the transfer. Payments can be made by bank transfer or credit card (plus 3% credit card processing fee). Cash payments are only possible up to an amount of € 250.
Please ensure that payments are made free of charge for German in Graz [dig]. In the event of late payment, default interest of 1% per month will be charged. For the blue ÖIF voucher, please hand it in at the reception desk of the language school before the course starts, as we have to report your participation to the ÖIF. Vouchers that are presented during or after the course cannot be considered for the current course at Deutsch in Graz.
Group size:
Our groups consist of a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 16 course participants. If the maximum group size is exceeded due to reclassifications, the group will be split if there are 16 or more participants. The minimum number of participants per level is 6. If the minimum number of 6 participants is not reached, the course can still be held if the difference is made up by full-payer contributions or the number of hours is reduced accordingly. There is no entitlement to compensation for any costs incurred.
Our language programs for young people and school classes can accommodate groups of up to 18 participants.
Course rooms
The lessons always take place in the rooms of German in Graz, Joanneumring 20, 2nd and 3rd floor , 8010 Graz, will take place.
Should it be necessary to use additional premises due to a high number of registrations, Deutsch in Graz reserves the right torent adequate course rooms in the immediate vicinity that meet the quality standard of our premises at Joanneumring .
Cancellation of courses and accommodation:
Cancellations must always be made in writing. Non-payment of the fee or non-attendance at the course does not automatically result in a cancellation.
Cancellation is possible up to 1 week before the start of the course at the latest, unless otherwise stated. In this case, a processing fee of € 80,- per course will be charged. Cancellations from 7 days before the scheduled start of the course – even if the course is not attended – the entire course fee is due. Cancellations from the first day of the course or no-shows will be charged the full course fee. If you nominate a substitute participant, the cancellation fee will be waived. In the event of irregular attendance or premature termination by the participant, there is also no entitlement to a refund or price reduction.
For bookings of two or more courses, a standardized cancellation policy applies to all courses. Cancellations or withdrawals from individual courses are not possible. In the case of an unauthorized visa application, a refund is also only possible up to one week before the start of the course. Participation in an online course or postponement of a course are options, but there will be no refund of the course fee.
Reclassifications
Participants acquire a language course, but not a fixed level. Should the participant be reclassified during the course, for example due to faster progress or lower language skills than expected, this does not entitle the participant to cancel the course or to a refund of the course fee. Participants have the option of attending a higher or lower level course.
Cancellation of exams (ÖSD, ÖIF and Telc)
Cancellations must always be made in writing. Non-payment of the fee or non-attendance at the examination does not automatically lead to cancellation. Cancellation is free of charge up to 2 weeks before the examination, unless otherwise stated. A processing fee of € 50 will be charged in the event of cancellation. Cancellations made 14 days or more before the scheduled examination will be charged the full examination fee, even if the candidate does not attend the examination. In the event of non-attendance at the examination, the entire examination fee will be charged. Cancellation (withdrawal) and rebooking – individual lessons and company courses: Agreed individual lessons and company courses must be postponed or canceled in writing by 6 p.m. on the previous day at the latest, otherwise the lessons agreed for the day in question, including any travel costs, will be charged in full.
Regulations for online teaching (instead of face-to-face teaching)
a) As far as possible, teaching takes place in the classroom.
b) On days or at times when the premises of the German language school in Graz are closed due to official or legal regulations or other comparable cases, such as the developments in the course of the Corona pandemic, and face-to-face lessons are not possible, online lessons are considered an equivalent form of teaching.
c) Online lessons are also considered equivalent on days or at times when quarantine has been ordered for the course group as a whole or the instructor of the course attended.
d) For those days or times when the German language school in Graz is unable to provide face-to-face lessons, course participants shall take advantage of the offer of online lessons. This is accepted by the course participant as a full replacement for the face-to-face lessons, without further compensation.
e) The online lessons are conducted via the platform of an external third party. The external service provider through which Sprachschule Deutsch in Graz conducts the online courses is Zoom (Zoom Video Communication, Inc). This service provider has a valid EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement. By using the Zoom service, the course participant expressly agrees to Zoom’s data protection agreement, which can be accessed at zoom.us/privacy-and-legal.
f) Course participants need a suitable end device (computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and an internet connection to take part in online lessons. The German language school in Graz does not provide a device or internet connection. Please note that costs may be incurred for the use of the Internet in the context of online lessons, which are to be borne by the participants and are not covered by the German language school in Graz.
g) Course participants are expressly prohibited from making recordings (audio and/or visual material) of the online lessons.
h) Participants do not have to register, make payments or provide credit card details when using the Zoom platform. The bandwidth used by the Zoom platform is optimized based on the participants’ internet connections and automatically adapts to 3G, WiFi or wired environments. It is recommended to have an internet speed of at least 1.2 Mbps (upload/download) for HD video. The respective internet speed can be determined on all end devices (computer/laptop, tablet, smartphone) via an online speed test (e.g. at www.speedtest.net).
Course attendance certificates
Course attendance certificates are issued if the course participant was present for at least 80% of the course duration.
Course offer
The prices quoted are valid until 31.12.2025. The course price includes teaching materials (books, copies) and liability insurance. The minimum number of participants per level is 6. [dig] reserves the right to cancel courses without a minimum number of participants or for organizational reasons. Participants who have already registered will be informed of a course cancellation before the start of the course and any payments made will be refunded in this case. There is no entitlement to compensation for costs incurred. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the course can still take place if the participants agree to a reduction in the number of hours with the same course price or if the difference is made up by paying full-paying fees.
If the teacher is ill, the course will either be held by a suitable substitute or the missed appointment will be made up at the end of the course.
Class-free days for German in Graz
21.04., 01.05., 29.05., 09.06., 19.06., 15.08., 01.11., 08.12.2025. Public holidays are included in the timetable. If there are several public holidays during a course, the courses will be extended accordingly.
Visa
[dig] is not responsible for visa matters or residence permits. Participants are responsible for complying with all applicable passport, visa, foreign exchange and customs regulations. If a visa is required for the course stay in Graz, the entire course fee (course and accommodation) must be paid in advance. Only then will a letter of acceptance be issued for submission to the Austrian embassy.
[dig] has no influence on the decision of the embassy. If the visa application is rejected, the course fee will be refunded upon presentation of a copy of the rejection notice from the embassy, less bank charges and a processing fee of € 80 per course.
Illustrations
dig reserves the right to use and publish images in which participants are recognizable in advertising materials. Subject to changes in the program and printing errors. The place of jurisdiction is Graz in all cases. Status: 01.01.2025.
